It's up to you as an instructor to develop your students into competent skiers and riders. This is
an awesome responsibility. Skiing and riding technique, equipment, and teaching are dynamic
and changing. In order to stay current and maintain professional standards, Rokka requires that
you attend our on-snow training clinics. The schedule for this season is provided below. You will
be required to sign in at these clinics. Class assignments, lift passes, and promotions will be
based in part on your participation in these clinics.
PSIA-NW, our regional organization for ski and snowboard instructors, has a comprehensive
program of instructor training and certification. Many of our instructors have passed the required
exams and are certified, from Level 1 through Level 3. Rokka strongly encourages its instructors to participate in the PSIA-NW training and certification program.
In addition, Rokka itself sponsors several all-day clinics throughout the season, with well-known outside coaches as clinic leaders. These clinics are held at areas such as Crystal Mountain and Mission Ridge. They are a really fun learning experience!
